Devblog : 2

The release date of A Strange Night Vol. 2 is just around the corner, and I’m really excited to share my new game with everyone! This installment features numerous changes, especially from a gameplay perspective:

1. Engine & Performance:

The game is now built on DirectX 12, which is more resource-intensive but offers significantly better lighting. Keep in mind that performance may be affected, but not drastically.

2. Linux Compatibility Issue:

There's currently a problem with cross-compilation for the Linux platform. I’m actively working on it, but I’m worried it might not be available at launch. However, I plan to include it in future updates.

3.Gameplay Changes:

  • Interact Button: Now set to Left Mouse Button.
  • Interactable Dot System: A handprint will now appear on objects you can interact with.
  • Flashlight Improvements: The flashlight has been reworked; it no longer looks like a bland light source.
  • Crouch System: Some areas require crouching to progress, so a crouch mechanic has been implemented.
  • Spam/Mash Interaction Prompts: Some items in the game now require button-mashing to obtain and progress

4. UI Enhancements:

The user interface has been slightly revamped for a better experience.

5.Feedback & AI Improvements:

I’ve taken a lot of feedback from the previous game, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. One major change involves the Stalker AI—the enemy that chases you—based on player feedback.

The game is set to release on Monday, February 24th. If any last-minute changes are required, the latest release date will be February 26th. So long... and stay tuned!
